If I stayed in Moscow all summer I would go out. I would ride my bicycle. I would play soccer. I would draw a lot.
I love summer, because I can hang out with my friends, relax and play sports. My friends and I love rollerblading and skateboarding while listening to the music of Glukoza, Tatu and others. Usually we ride around the courtyard or along sidewalks and underpasses, or where there are bridges with ramps. Sometimes we go to the Young Pioneers Stadium to ride. And when my mom has time, we go to Poklonnaya Gora, it’s really cool there. I also like playing soccer with friends at Avtomobilist Stadium, or swimming at the reservoir near Rechnoi Vokzal [metro station]. It’s also cool to go to the movies and eat popcorn in summer. I love the movie theaters Praga and Kinotsentr at Krasnaya Presnya. And sometimes my mom and I go to watch the auto races in Myachikovo or else drive go-carts at Krylatskoye.
Nadezhda Loseva, 11:
In the summer, lots of museums do new exhibits. But lots of kids don’t like going to museums … so you can go and see interesting places like Poklonnaya Gora or the Kremlin, or go to parks to meet with friends and play in the fresh air. At Poklonnaya Gora, there are beautiful views and various fountains, and sometimes there are concerts. It’s very beautiful.
Yay! Summer! That means nobody’s in school, I get up when I want, eat when I’m hungry, wander around as long as I want. We decided to meet summer in Gorky Park. Go through the gates, but don’t rush up the central path — turn left to the kids’ rides. Sometimes on the “Dragon” I hang upside-down, it’s scary, interesting and fun. If you didn’t forget to bring dad, you’ve got to take him to the electric car races. Dads forget they’re old and race around with the kids. When your parents have warmed up, drag them to the shooting range. You can shoot rifles, pistols, and even a crossbow. I got lucky shooting the crossbow and won a prize — a big fluffy cat. There’s a bunch of cafes, so you can snack and then have more fun. When you’re tired of the rides, there’s the Fabrika Zvyozd [Star Factory] — the same guys and girls you see on TV. Here you can see their concert.
Finish up on the Ferris wheel. The little cabins go up very high, and you can see all Moscow from a bird’s eye view.
