While giants of the promotion business Zeppelin and Organised Kaos were planning their pompous Halloween events last year by ordering movie-studio decorations and signing up big-name acts from major international booking agencies, modest Mio decided to simply serve up good music. The end result was hundreds of costumed clubbers trying to squeeze into the diminutive club to see Zombie Nation perform.
DJ Hooligan started his career in 1989 in Germany and is often said to be responsible for the techno revolution that gripped German music in the ’90s. His singles “B.O.T.T.R.O.P.”, “Rave Nation” and “Meet Her at the Loveparade” were dancefloor hits around the globe. In 1996, DJ Hooligan set up the Hooligan Productions label and B-Sides sub label featuring such performers as Timo Maas and Oliver Klein.
