After Party Digs: A Priori
Two years ago A Priori opened just off Novy Arbat as yet another glamorous club replete with strict face control and the obligatory model-like bimbos flanked by their wealthy admirers.

Just a few months later, however, the club's promoters realized that the venue needed to be redefined in order to stay afloat.

A Priori's art director came up with the idea of turning the place into an after-party hangout: a concept that won A Priori widespread recognition as the city's no. 1 after-party spot. With an interior that changes weekly, dancefloors packed to the brim and early-morning progressive techno DJ sets that often run into the late afternoon, the improved A Priori took off.

The concept of an early-morning party place scared off the Barbie wannabes and brought in a more diverse crowd from every hot spot on the clubbing map.

A couple months ago, A Priori joined the list of venues that host international guest performers. The club's latest collaboration with the “Parol” project and the Urban Collection record label gave birth to the so-called “Password” parties, which A Priori art director Gugen Basenian said would run all year.

A Priori is currently celebrating being named the “Best After-Party Club” at the recent Night Life Awards: all the more reason for weary clubbers to head to A Priori at 4am to get their early-morning dose of progressive techno and dance until they drop.
