Vision Cocktail Hall (Bar/Club) [Drinking & dancing]
(M. Arbatskaya)
A cocktail bar with a minimalist
interior, great views and a huge choice of cocktails with more than 150 entries on offer. In addition to cocktails, a menu of light, modern international cuisine will keep hunger at bay. Recently closed for renovations, so call in advance to avoid disappointment.
Voina I Mir (Bar/Club) [Drinking & dancing]
(M. Park Kultury)
One of the city's few centrally located super-clubs, Voina i Mir ("War and Peace") is a good venue for house and trance fans keen to avoid the face-control of other Moscow clubs. The war theme is perhaps a little disconcerting -- you'll find shooting galleries and toy guns at the bar -- but the atmosphere is otherwise relaxed and the prices democratic. Music varies from house and trance to r&b and chill-out.

watering hole. Decent food and drinks, including unfiltered German beer. Can get overcrowded.

Nice modern design, relaxed atmosphere, moderate prices and diligent staff. Gigs, disco, face control.
Vualya (Bar/Club) [Drinking & dancing]

Club and lounge with a very elegant design, known for its fancy cocktails. Easy-listening music, acid jazz, trip-hop spun by trendy DJs. Face control.
Vysotka (Bar/Club) [Drinking & dancing]
(M. Barrikadnaya)
Alligators under a glass floor are just one of the attractions at this large complex. To keep you entertained, there's billiards, bowling and a restaurant offering European cuisine as well as (you guessed it) sushi.
Vanil (Restaurant) [Eclectic]
(M. Kropotkinskaya)
High-tech interior. Fusion of French and Japanese cuisine. Has a great view of Christ the Savior Cathedral. Try the lobster on asparagus and orange peel.
Vapiano (Restaurant) [Italian]
(M. Prospekt Mira)
Veliky Sultan (Restaurant) [Lebanese]
(M. Park Kultury)
Tasty Arab cuisine and belly-dancing after 8pm at Sultan's sister restaurant. Tabbouleh, hummus and sambousik pastries are especially recommended.
